Reverse Swing

This was a documentary portrait made on Md Fareed, a guard at the Jamia Millia Proctor office. This is a project was made to commemorate 100 years of Jamia Millia Islamia and to pay homage to someone who has been working in this institution for more than 15 years. The documentary traces Md Fareed’s journey as a young boy with aspirations who had to give in to the pressure of difficult circumstances to start working full time in Jamia Millia Islamia. 

This project is very dear to me, solely because of Fareed Bhai. Shooting with him was always a pleasure because he had no tantrums, no airs and gave all his time and love to us so we could do a good job of telling his story to the world.
