My Mother, Sunita
This is an isolation diary I made on my mother. The initial month of lockdown was hard and I had a full-blown creative block. I couldn’t create anything no matter how hard I tried. My excuse was that I didn’t bring any piece of film-making equipment with me and my creative juices just couldn’t flow, locked in the four walls of a house. I was constantly telling myself that I needed a camera, a good subject, lighting and a good story to be able to create something.
After a month of this mentality, I changed my outlook. I picked up my phone camera and began shooting my mother. She is what home esentially is for me. She means everything to me and this is something that I talk about in the video as well. I built a narrative, wrote what I wanted to say on paper and shot and edited everything on my phone.
Sometimes all you need is an idea and a story that’s worth telling.
